Antique English Dinnerware Set, Royal Worcester
Embossed pink & gold 29 piece set. From Worcester's Kerr & Binns period 1852 to 1862. A very rare set of fine antique English bone china. Great translucency. Hand painted raised pink posies with twisted gold ribbon border, also raised. Please enlarge the pictures for a better look.
(11) 9 3/4 inch dinner plates
(8) 8 7/8 inch luncheon plates
(7) 9 3/4 inch rimmed soup bowls
(1) 16 1/4 by 13 1/2 inch turkey platter
(1) pedestal vegetable bowl with dome lid. It measures 12 inches across the pretty twig handles.
Condition: Plates and bowls are all excellent! The surfaces are still pretty and shiny with minimal wear. The turkey platter has a small minor crack under the rim as shown. The pedestal bowl is in excellent condition but the lid is cracked and is unstable.
If I were to keep this set, I would have the lid professionally repaired because it is absolutely beautiful. Looks like it is right out of a Charlotte Bronte novel.
